Without safe and reliable feminine hygiene, young women in many African countries tend to stay home during menstruation. They miss so much school, two out of three eventually drop out. Lack of education then leaves them vulnerable to the issues that perpetuate a cycle of poverty.

In May 2015, the ACW took on a project to provide Dignity Kits to young women in Burundi;enabling them to stay in school.

Support for the ACW Dignity Kit initiative was overwhelming. We were able to ship 600 Dignity Kits to our companion Diocese of Buyé, helping more than 2000 young women. Thank you to everyone who contributed money and prayers to help young women in Buyé attend school.
